Dr. Ford is awesome. He diagnosed Sam with Elbow Dysplasia and very clearly explained to us what to expect as well as options that are available. You can tell that he loves animals in the way he was handling Sam during the exam. We opted for surgery to give Sam the best quality of life that he can have with this condition. Dr. Ford called us with progress at every major step. He called us after the CT scan which confirmed the diagnosis and called us after the surgery with post op update. Next day we got another call from Dr. Ford that Sam was doing great and we were able to pick happy Sam up later that morning. Sam was glad to go home for sure and we are thankful for Dr. Ford and his skills that gave Sam a brighter future.

Calm, competent doctor that did a fairly complicated Cryptorchid neuter surgery on my male cat. Dropped off at 7:30, and got a call at 10:00 saying all went well and he's recovering. Very large hospital. Seems like a good place.

My 2 year old adorable dachshund was sadly diagnosed with a brain tumor a few weeks ago. After having surgery, we decided to do radiation. We met with Dr. Lewis, who is the most incredibly personable, thorough and kind radiation oncologist. Not only did we just love him as a person, but while being realistic about Amalfi’s prognosis he also gave us a lot of reason to hope as well. Dr Lewis is also so patient and made us feel so comfortable asking whatever questions we had. He didn’t demean us if we repeated questions, like other vets have done in the past and he was just so thorough in explaining everything clearly and easily that we didn’t have that many questions.
In short, Dr Lewis possesses the perfect blend of knowledge, intelligence, skill, patience and personality. We are so lucky to have found him. As a bonus, it doesn’t hurt that he’s almost as cute as Amalfi 😉😃.

Ive moved away from Des Moines, but if I could have moved Dr. Riordan and his staff to Wisconsin with me, I would have. Dr. Riordan always took time to explain in detail, make notes that I could take home with me, and give more than one treatment option. Its been 6 years and I still miss the care that my current dog (Sammie) and previous dog (Ted) received at Riordan Animal Hospital.

Dr. Wright and his staff really care about their patients. He does everything he can to help them. He is up front, honest and straight foward about what needs to be done to help your pet. He hugged me and was so caring when our Border Collie Princess passed away. My Chihuahua, Spanky is one of the smallest patients there and I love when we go in and you can hear everyone saying "Hello Spanky". I would not go anywhere else. Everyone at Riner Animal Hospital has always been wonderful to us and our pets. They are just outstanding people. I would recommend them to anyone. The caring and compassionate folks at Riner Animal Hospital truly deserve this award. They are the best.
